I've known Verna for many years. In that time her work has really grown and changed. She has won awards for her beadwork and basketry both provincially and nationally. Her work is owned by collectors around the world. She is always studying new techniques whether they be invented by herself or ancient and traditional. As the site grows I look forward to telling you all about her biography and awards, in the meantime I'll just say she's also my Mom and I'm real proud of her and she helps me run the Fireweed Art Studio in the summer.
